192 | Marriage Cultural Confusion Part 2
We, as believers and members of the Christian community, seek to understand and uphold God's design for marriage as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, rooted deeply in Scripture. We recognize that cultural shifts, especially since the 1960s sexual revolution, have dramatically redefined marriage and sexual expression, often challenging biblical truths. While we navigate these complexities, we commit to holding fast to the truth of God’s Word, balanced with grace and gentleness when engaging with others who embrace differing sexual identities or lifestyles. We acknowledge the challenges that come with living faithfully in a culture that often labels us as outdated or intolerant, yet we remain confident that God’s design promotes human flourishing, particularly for families and children. We also understand the importance of the gospel in addressing sin, including sexual sin, offering forgiveness and transformation through Christ. Therefore, we endeavor to communicate biblical truth with love, patience, and hope, encouraging one another to live holy lives and to reflect the gospel’s redeeming power in a complex, often confusing world.
